Dorothy Jean ("Mamma Dot") Stribling

Dorothy Stribling (Mama Dot) was born April 21, 1940 to Norvell and Lois Salters in St. Louis, Missouri. She departed this life, June 29, 2019 at Rosewood Assisted Living in Tupelo, MS.

Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Big Hill U.M. Church of Tupelo, MS. 

Dorothy was married to the late Clyde Stribling for over 50 years.

Dorothy loved cooking and baking desserts. She was a hardworking woman, devoted wife, and mother. She loved talking on the phone to her family and friends. She was well known throughout her community for always taking care of her family, frying fish and all her wonderful cooking. She loved her church and her church family. She always put others before herself. She retired after working for Lanier Clothing.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters; Mary(Emmanuel)Lowe of Verona, MS and Gloria(Rance)Adams of Nettleton, MS, stepson; Willie Ray Simmons, two brothers; Leon(late Katherine)Salters of Belden, MS and James (Charles) Salters of Tupelo, MS, three granddaughters; Dykeshia Stribling, Shandell (Andre)Fields-Faulkner, and Whitney Stribling all of Tupelo, MS, three grandsons; Marnicho (Makeia) Stribling of Fulton, MS, Marcus and Orlandes Stribling of Tupelo, MS, great-grandchildren: Shariah, DeQuaun, Leah, Amerianna, Journey, Brennen, and Brialeigh.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Clyde Stribling, her son Ralph Stribling, her grandson, Lemerio Fields, her sister, Annie Ruth Northington and four brothers; L.C. Rufus, Willie B, and Norvell “ Bo” Salters. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
