Willie Rine Smith, 72, transitioned on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Brookwood Medical Center, in Birmingham, AL.
Willie Rine Smith was born on February 6, 1951, in Tate County, Mississippi to Lorine Beard Hope and the late Mr. John Willie Smith.
Willie accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was a member of Bibleway Outreach Fellowship where she served faithfully until her health failed and moved to Birmingham AL.
Willie loved serving God and going to bible study and praying. Loved being with family especially her grandchildren. She worked at Walmart as a cashier.
She leaves to honor and cherish her memory, a loving mother Lorine Hope of Byhalia, Mississippi; one loving and caring daughter Loretha Thompson (John) of Jefferson, Georgia; two sons, Henry Earl Smith (Monica) of Loganville Georgia, Joe Leonard Hearn (Anastasia) of Birmingham, Alabama; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister Betty Myles of Byhalia, Mississippi; two brothers Lester Hope of Byhalia Mississippi, Bradley Hope of Byhalia MS; two uncles William (Georgia) Beard of Memphis, Tennessee and Major Beard Jr. of Memphis Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father John Willie Smith; one son Eric Dewayne Hearn; two brothers Gary Hope and Larry Hope; two sisters Dorothy Smith and Laverne Hope Cruther.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness. Which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Visitation will be at Serenity Funeral Home, Friday, September 29, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., 140 N. Memphis Street, Holly Springs, MS 38635.
Services will be at Bibleway Outreach Fellowship, Saturday, September 30, 2023, 1:30 p.m., at 6542 Highway 178, Byhalia, MS 38611.
Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
