Mr. William Cecil Stepp Jr., 64, of Thaxton, MS, transitioned on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo, MS, with his family by his side. Born on November 13, 1960, Cecil, as he was affectionately known, was a man whose presence was as commanding as his laughter, touching the lives of all who knew him. Cecil was a leader to many.
Cecil spent his professional life working diligently as a roofer and farm hand, where he applied his strong work ethic and hands-on skills. His true passion, however, lay in the joy of riding his Harley, a hobby that brought him immense happiness and a sense of freedom. His infectious personality made him a beloved figure to all that knew him. He was a friend to many, a stranger to none and recently accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior.
Cecil is survived by his children, Rachael Harr (Matt) of Morris, IL, and Casey Stepp of Morris, IL. He was a grandfather to Andrew Harr, Alexis Smith, and Emery Stepp all of Morris IL; his sisters, Sissy McDonald (Ray) of Ingomar, MS, Cathy Hodges (Gene) of Walls, MS, and Sarah Russell of Ecru, MS, along with his brother Jimmy Joslin of Pontotoc, MS, and sister Josephine Bails of Pontotoc, MS, will also hold his memory dear. Cecil leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Cecil Stepp, grandson Ryan Bradley Smith, his mother Betty Joslin, step-father Luther Joslin, father William Cecil Stepp, Sr., and brothers Billy Dean and Joey Stepp, along with all his grandparents.
Cecil's laughter and zest for life will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing
