Wallace Lawhorn Obituary

Mr. Wallace Lawhorn, 79, transitioned on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Starkville Manor Nursing Home in Starkville, MS.

Wallace “Bub” Lawhorn came into the world on March 14, 1941,  born to the late  John W. Lawhorn and Fannie Shorter Lawhorn. Bub lived his years in his family home of Lafayette County, Mississippi.
At the age of twelve, Bub professed his belief and trust in Christ at Clear Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where  he remained a member until his death.
For a brief time, Bub lived in Chicago, Illinois,  during that time, he found work as a railroad worker. After his time with the railroad ended, he found joy as a truck driver until his retirement. He spent the rest of his days in Oxford, Mississippi, fishing and spending time with family.
Whenever asked how he was doing, he replied, “I’m like Allstate. I’m in good hands.” And he now has found himself in even better hands, in heavenly hands. Preceding him in rest were his parents, six sisters, and five brothers.
Living to carry on his remembrance is his very special and caring sister, Altha Mae Vaughn of Oxford, Mississippi; his two children, Carolyn White Burriell and Terrell Lawhorn of  Racine, Wisconsin;  his sister, Maggie Mae Collins of  Chicago, Illinois; his loving grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
