Walker Bryson, Sr

Mr. Walker Bryson, Sr., 70, of Lamar, MS, transitioned on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Walker Bryson, Sr., was born on November 3, 1953, to the late Richard Bryson and Lela Gatewood Bryson, in Marshall County, MS.   On Friday, November 24, 2023, he transitioned at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN.

He was a retired factory worker for Carrier Corporation, of Collierville, TN.

He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Kimbrough Chapel M.B. Church.  He graduated from Sand Flat High School (H.W. Byers) Class of 1975.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife Verlie Bryson of Lamar, MS; two daughters Sheran Harden (Curtis) of Chulahoma, MS, and Rozetta Sellers of Lamar, MS; two sons: Hubert Bryson (Kristan) of Olive Branch, MS, and Walker Bryson, Jr. (Sabrina) of Lamar, MS; two brothers: Rickey Bryson of Lamar, MS, and Jeffrey Bryson of Red Banks, MS; one sister: Fannie Echols of Lamar, MS; three sisters in law; Vicks (Agrippa) Bryson, Costella Bryson (James), and Christie Tunstall; two brothers in law: Glostine Cox and Griffith Cox; eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild Noah Nelson; and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends; and a good friend Ezell Evans.

Walker was preceded in death by his loving parents Richard Bryson and Lela Gatewood Bryson; three brothers: Alvin Bryson, Cornell Bryson, and Willie Bryson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St.. Holly Springs, MS  38635

Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 2:30 p.m., at Roberts Chapel C.M.E. Church, 2680 Roberts Chapel Road, Lamar, MS  38642

Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
