Vince Earl Jefferson

.Vince Earl “Joe” Jefferson, 62, gained his wings Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 102 Early Grove Road, Lamar, MS.

Vince Earl “Joe” Jefferson was born July 19, 1961, in Olive Branch, MS, to the late Louis Kinkle Jefferson and Lee Willie Jefferson.

Vince Earl Joe was a member of Byhalia High School Class of 79. He worked for Tire Battery Corp for 43 years. He loved to Fish, Ride his 4-wheeler and Bar-B-Que. He loved spending time with his sons and granddaughters. He loved enjoying life and spending time with his family and friends. He was a faithful member of the Mt. Newell M. B. Church until his death.

Vince Earl “Joe” Jefferson’s was survived by his special dedicated partner Bernice Briggs of Lamar, MS; three sons Reginald (Devena) Jefferson of Fort Wayne, IN, Lemarcus, (Charlotte) Hardaway of Southaven,  MS,  Jamal Moffitt of Victoria, MS; three brothers: Sesely (Lois) Jefferson of Red Banks, MS,  Wayne Jefferson of Byhalia MS, Willie Jefferson of Holly Springs, MS; four sisters: Gail Scales, Carolyn Hardaway, and  Alexus Jefferson of Red Banks, MS, Stephanie Blake of Olive  Branch, MS; three granddaughters, Kar’lee Scruggs, Kay’lynn Hardaway and Zoella Lee Jefferson; three Aunts Bertha Jefferson of Red Banks, MS,   Perole Rockette of St. Louis, MO,  Jeanette (Dean) Barksdale of Holly Springs, MS; one uncle Oscar (Dorothy)  Kinkle of  Holly Springs MS; one God sister Shirley Hughes, two bonus sons, Courtney Briggs and Jymme Briggs, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was proceeded in death by her brother Shelden and Goffery Jefferson; one brother-in-law Roosevelt Hardaway Jr., five aunts Olivia Bobo, Betty Williams, Lonnie Black, Matilda Gatewood, and Shirley Smith; nine uncles Andrew Jefferson, Charles Black, John Bobo, Charles Rockette, Oscar Aldridge, Robert, John, Cidell and  Odell Kinkle.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis Street, Holly Springs, MS  38635. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at New Dimension Salt & Light Ministries, 565 Neely Avenue, Holly Springs, MS 38635

Burial will follow at Mt. Newell Memorial Garden, Red Banks, MS 38661
