Ms. Verlene Bobo, 90, transitioned on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at her residence in Holly Springs, MS.
Ms. Verlene Bobo was born on November 18, 1932, in Marshall County, MS, to the late Alcue Cole and Annie Mae Gardner Cole.
She attended Bell Grove School and was a member of Bell Grove M.B. Church, where she was on the Usher Board.
She loved writing, doing her puzzles, watching Walker Texas Ranger, Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons; Ricky Bobo of Holly Springs, MS, Marcel Bobo of Aurora Illinois; one daughter; Helen Fay (Larry) Boyd of Senatobia, MS; one brother: Elvan Cole (Julia) of Milwaukee, WI; 15 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Calvin Bobo “GC”; her parents, Alcue Cole and Annie Mae Gardner Cole.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Bell Grove M.B. Church, 853 Tyro Road, Holly Springs, MS
Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
