Mr. Tommie Lee Dozier, 89, of New Albany, MS, transitioned on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County.
Tommie Lee Dozier, Sr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 14, 1935, to the late Richard Dozier and Julia Mae Harris Dozier in Union County, MS.
Tommie was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Autry Mae Ford September 10, 1955. To this union four children were born; Gwenda, Annette, Tommy, Jr. and Margaret.
He was a faithful member of Union Grove MB Church where he was an Usher and a member of the Cemetery Committee.
Tommie worked at Benchcraft and Futorian for many years and was a hard-working mechanic. He enjoyed Gospel Singing and was a member of the Harmony Echoes and the Starlights.
Tommie Lee leaves to cherish his loving memories his children; Gwenda Mosley, Annette (Elder Rayfield) Cameron, Tommy Dozier, Jr., Margaret Baker, Thomas (Shannia) Dozier, Kiara Dozier, Arthur Lee Cark, Larry (Wendy) Cark, Katina (Eric) Blanchard, Tameka (Anthony) Shumpert, Rachel (Jeramy) Beavers, Hurbert (Victoria) Anderson and Jerry Dogan. His sisters; Nora Lee Jackson, Juliette (Willie Frank) Harris, Mattie Mae (Brad) Carr, his brothers; George Dozier, Pastor Carl (Leona) Dozier, Paul McWilliams, brother and sister-in-law; Bobbie and Betty Baldon and Theresa Robbins, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Tommie Lee Dozier, Sr., was preceded in death by his wife; Autry Dozier, his parents; Richard and Julia Mae Dozier, sister; Mattie Mae Dozier, brother; Lawrence Dozier, two daughters; Eloise Carter, Bobbie Jean Barry and one son; Benard Judon.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 2:30 p.m., at New Birth Community Church, 614 Glade Avenue, New Albany, MS 38652.
Body will lie in state one hour before service.
Burial will take place at Union Grove Church Cemetery.
