Solomon Woodson, Jr., 68, of Holly Springs, MS, transitioned on Friday, August 22, 2025, at his residence.
Solomon Woodson, Jr., was born on April 30, 1957, to Solomon Woodson, Sr. & Flossie Lee Woods Woodson in Holly Springs, MS. He graduated from Holly Springs High School in 1976; he attended freshman year at Rust College in Holly Springs, MS., and attended his Sophomore year at Tougaloo College, in Jackson, MS.
Solomon Jr. was one of a kind; he would lend a helping hand to family and friends or anyone he could. In his younger days he worked some construction jobs. He also worked with the City of Holly Springs Road Works alongside his dad. He harvested his garden yearly and prepared meals from his produce. He loved mowing the lawn for his mom. He loved football and attended all Holly High home games. He was the family entertainment when you visited him with some of his smooth moves of old jams, playing games, and sitting around talking about the old days.
Solomon Woodson, Jr, 68, of Holly Springs, MS, gained his heavenly wings on Friday, August 22, 2025. Solomon Jr. was preceded by his father Solomon Woodson, Sr., his sister Georgia Woodson, and his brother-in-law Calvin Stringer. He joins as they have entered eternal rest.
Solomon is survived by his mother Flossie Lee Woodson of Holly Springs, MS, his brothers Robert Woodson Sr. (Mary) of Olive Branch, MS, James Woodson of St. Louis, MO, his sisters Ada Stringer, Irene Woodson, Earlene Woodson all three of St. Louis, MO, Irma Woodson, Turkesha Woodson both of Holly Springs, MS, his nephews Terrell Woodson, Corey Stringer, Darryl Woodson all three of St. Louis, MO, Robert D. Woodson Jr. (Seomara) of Atoka, TN, Cedrick Woodson (Chantel), Rodrick Woodson both of Olive Branch, MS, his nieces Tameka Woodson of St. Louis, MO, Demetria Elliott (Charles), Nicole Woodson both of Memphis, TN, Tiffany Richardson, Felecia Woodson both of Olive Branch, MS, Brianna Walton Nolan (Nicholas Tyree) of Fayetteville, NC, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends to cherish his memories.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635.
Burial will take place at Hudsonville C.M.E. Church Cemetery.
