Simmie D. Tyson, 81, of Oxford, Mississippi, transitioned on Sunday, December 10, 2023,
Simmie D. Tyson, was born on July 3, 1942, to the late Alfred Tyson and Eva Mae Toles Tyson, in Oxford, MS. On Sunday, December 10, 2023, he went to his heavenly home.
Simmie attended Taylor School System. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Hope M.B. Church in Taylor, MS. He worked as an auto body painter for several years. He was kind and considerate to all. He loved painting cars, lawn care, gardening, cooking, and fishing.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife: Oleaner M. Tyson of Pontotoc, MS; three sons: Wilbert Tyson of Atlanta, GA, Michael O’Neal McGlarn (Shirley) of Knoxville, TN, and Roscoe McGlarn of Oxford, MS; one daughter: Lawana Brassell of Oxford, MS; two brothers: Alfred Tyson, Jr. of Taylor, MS, and David Tyson of Flint, MI; two sisters: Ara Mae “Haley” Rogers of Pasadena, CA and Jeanette Ragland of Flint, MI; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Simmie was preceded in death by his loving parents Alfred Tyson and Eva Mae Tyson; seven brothers: Jack, Aaron, Collier, Billy, Nathaniel, Lee Author, and Roosevelt; and one sister: Louise
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 294 Highway 7 North, Oxford, MS 38655
