Shirley Ann Rutherford, 63, transitioned on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at her residence, in Blue Mountain, MS.

Shirley Ann Rutherford was born June 5, 1959 to the late Ellis Rutherford and Vella W. Rutherford in Tippah County, Mississippi. She transitioned at her home early Sunday morning on April 23, 2023. At an early age she joined Palestine M.B. Church and remained a member until her passing. She was known as "Shirlann" to most. She enjoyed playing her video games, cooking and watching The First 48. She attended Line Street Elementary, Blue Mountain High School and also Northeast Community College. She spent several years in the workforce at PEP and Piper Impact and later went into the food industry working at Marta's Menu in Corinth, MS and Taylor's Place in New Albany, MS, cooking became her passion and she tried to cook or help someone cook wherever she could. 

She leaves to cherish her memories 2 daughters; Sonya High of Ripley, MS and Crystal Williams of Hickory Flat, MS, 1 son, Kevin Rutherford of Blue Mountain, MS 2 sisters; Lillie Edgeston (John) and Allie Johnson both of Ripley, MS, 3 brothers; Edward Johnson (Mary) of Peoria, IL, Billy Rutherford of Corinth, MS and Rickey Waldrop of Blue Mountain, MS, 6 grand- children; Shakira, MyKeiya, KeMaury, Patreecia, Dale and Dennis, 2 great grand children; Enyah and Emoni, a special sister; Betty White of Blue Mountain, MS and a special daughter, Sheba Sanders of Blue Mountain, MS.

She is preceded in death by both parents, 3 brothers; Robert Johnson, Joe M. Ruther- ford, and Herbert L. Rutherford, 2 sisters; Emma J. Rutherford and Ernestine Ruther- ford.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 722 Coulter Drive, New Albany, MS  38652.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Palestine M.B. Church, 690 County Road 830, Blue Mountain, MS  38610.

Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
