Mrs. Selma Jordan Green

Mrs. Selma Jordan Green, 90, transitioned on Friday, May 12, 2023, at her residence in Oxford, MS.

Selma J. Green was born to Eva and Tommy Jordan on May 6, 1933.

She was the eighth child born to this union. Jake, William, Frank, Tommy, Robert, Priscilla Moore, Jesse D., Adam, Mary, and Martha all preceded her in death. After her mother’s death at the age of two, Lue Jean Upchurch - Jordan, “Big Momma”, became her mother. From the union of Lue Jean and Tommy Jordan, eight more siblings were added: T.J. Matthews, Willie George Smith, Hattie Stevens, Julius Jordan (Mattie), Betty Jean (Dave), Leon (Laheshia), Curtis (Ester), and John Albert (Louise), who preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 294 Highway 7 North, Oxford, MS  38655.

Burial will take place at 12:30 p.m., at Oxford Memorial Cemetery, Oxford, MS.
