Sarah S. Thomas

Sarah S. Thomas was born January 10, 1938 in Tallahatchie County to the late Dora S. McCaskill and Frank Shoemaker Sr.  She departed this life on Saturday, July 6, 2019.  

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Jerusalem M. B. Church and later became a member of St. John M. B.  Church.

She was a dedicated employee of Walter Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL for 25 years.

Sarah leaves to cherish her memories, four sisters, Mary McCaskill of Chicago, IL; Brenda Shoemaker, Donna Shoemaker, Linda Shoemaker and Mary Shoemaker all of Charleston, MS. One brother, Frank Shoemaker of Charleston, MS.  Minnie Floyd Byrd, who was reared with her as a sister. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sara was preceded in death by her father Frank Shoemaker Sr., her mother Dora S. McCaskill, brothers Robert Curry Sr. and Eddie Earl Shoemaker; Two sisters, Florida Shoemaker and Willie Winters. A sister-in-law Ernestine Curry.  Three aunts, Willie L. Sellers, Augusta Sellers, and Sarah Sellers Turner. Two uncles, David Sellers and Alan Love, and a Cousin, Willie Floyd.
