Mrs. Sarah Holland, 74, transitioned on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at her residence in Oxford, MS.
Sarah Louise Woods Holland was born on July 13, 1947 to the late Elroy and Georgia Pegues Woods, in Oxford, MS. She was the youngest of twelve. At an early age, Sarah accepted Christ and joined Union Missionary Baptist Church in Etta, MS.
After marrying the late Artevus Holland on January 19, 1964, she joined Bethlehem C.M.E. Church where she remained a member until death. She was the mother of six children: Gloria, Douglas (deceased), Keith, Tony, Sheretha and David.
For a number of years, Sarah worked at Mott's Chicken in Water Valley. She then went on to work for Mohasco Furniture for 27 years, Ashley Furniture for 8, and ended her work career at Angel Healthcare where she assisted in providing home healthcare services to the elderly. When she wasn't working, Sarah enjoyed spending time with friends and family and watching television, particularly westerns, wrestling, and game shows.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, two grandsons, Christopher Poole and LeChristopher Gipson, five brothers and three sisters.
Left to cherish her memories and continue her legacy are her children: Gloria Holland of Batesville, MS, Keith (Bonnie) Holland of Etta, MS, Tony (Lachel) Holland of Oxford, MS, Sheretha Hoyle of Etta, MS, and David (Tiffany) Holland of New Albany, MS, grandchildren: Latricia, Tayunna, Larry, Jr., Corey, Katrinia, Tonisha, Jamarius, Greg, Tony, Jr., Lydia, Aaliyah, Alexis, Shaylee and JaCoby, three loving sisters and one brother, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
Walk-through Visitation will be Friday, October 22, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Serenity-Burney Funeral Home Chapel, Oxford, MS.
Service will be Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., Grace Pointe Church of God, New Albany, MS. Burial will take place at Bethlehem CME Cemetery, 329 CR 245, Etta, MS
