Samuel Miggins, Sr.

Samuel Miggins, Sr. was born on January 21, 1953, to the late Adell Miggins and Lillie Pearl Williams Miggins, in Canton, MS.   On Friday, March 8, 2024, he transitioned at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital in Olive Branch, MS.

Samuel accepted Christ at an early age and joined Rising Chapel M.B. Church in Canton, MS.  He was a graduate of Velma Ware Jackson High School. Samuel was employed as a driver with MS Materials.  He was funny, enjoyed being on the go and driving, fishing, planting, gardening, and cooking.  He was a family man who enjoyed socializing and being around his friends and family.

Samuel leaves to cherish his loving memories: two sons: Samuel Miggins, Jr. of Oxford, MS and Archmel Banks (Lottie); three daughters: Angela Miggins (Timothy) of Oxford, MS, Jennifer Miggins (Roy) of Memphis, TN, and Avery Banks of Canton, MS; one brother: Harry Miggins (Elmarie) of Canton, MS;  three sisters: Ruby Ammons, and Patricia Sims both of Canton, MS, and Emily Ammons of Blue Island, IL; three grandchildren: Amber Redd (Erick) of Sardis, MS, David Robinson of Oxford, MS, and Jacoria Miggins of Memphis, TN; two great grandchildren: Eason Hicks and Autumn Hicks both of Sardis, MS; ex-wife: Brenda Cheeks of Chicago, IL; and a host of  nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Samuel was preceded in death by his loving parents: Adell Miggins and Lillie Pearl Miggins; ex-wife: Micheryl Banks; and brother: Charles Miggins.
