Rudy D. Lewis

Mr. Rudy D. Lewis, 48, transitioned on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL. He was the son of Rudy Barnett and Laura Lewis Bogard, born on July 10, 1972 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Jeffrie Chapel M.B. Church in Abbeville, MS. He received his education at Lafayette County School System. He worked at Volta Restaurant and the Prison System in Holly Springs, MS. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working on cars. On February 9, 2007, he married April Kimmons, to this union four children was born.

He will always be remembered by his loving wife: April Kimmons Lewis. His children: Mikale Lewis, Rudy D. Lewis, Jr., Brian Lewis, Charles Adam Lewis and Jay Gillard all of Florence, Alabama. Deshon Toles, Tanisha Lewis, Rudy Antwan Lewis, Devin McThunes all of Oxford, MS and Joshua Lewis of Lambert, MS. His mother: Laura Bogard and his grandmother: Ida Lewis both of Abbeville, MS. His step-father: Arthur Bogard of Holly Springs, MS. Four grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father: Rudy Barnett.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 4-6p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Serenity Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of the arrangements.
