Roy Wendell Burnett

Mr. Roy Burnett, 69, transitioned on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Baptist-DeSoto Hospital in Southaven. 

Mr. Roy Wendell Burnett was born November 5, 1951 to Mr. George Burnett Jr., and the late Elsenia Champion.

He accepted Christ at an early age at Kimbrough Chapel M.B. Church. Roy departed this life to begin a new life in Heaven, November 25, 2020 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS.

On October 21, 1972, he was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Mary Jean Snow, and to this union, four children were born. One preceded him in death, Tracy Wyndell Burnett.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his lovely, wonderful wife, Mary; his children, Cynthia Burnett of  Oakland,  TN,  Byron Burnett of Memphis, TN; Latorua Taylor (Quintin) of Gonzales, LA,  he also leaves two sisters, Yvonne Alsobrook (Archie); Michelle Burnett-Battle; four brothers, Ronnie Champion (Avrial) of Memphis, TN; Michael Burnett of Flint, MI; Doug of California; Ronnie of Atlanta, GA, from marriage six brothers-in-law; Earnest Stephens (Joyce), Richard Hill (Sharon), Cleveland Hill, Earl Hill, Clyde Hill (Cassandra), Greg Hill  all of Lamar, MS, four sisters-in-law; Mae Helen Bryson, Susie Penilton (Ajacca), Vickie  Jones (Tracy), Sylvia  Hill all of Lamar,  MS;  five  grandchildren, (Talaria, Tyler, Carmen, Kyron, Landon),  a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. One special aunt, Stella Bryson of Lamar, MS; two very special uncles, Calvin Bryson of Lamar MS, and  B.W. Burnett of Memphis, TN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 4-6p.m., at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs. Burial will take place at Kimbrough Chapel M.B. Church Cemetery in Lamar, MS. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
