Roy Beckley, 77, transitioned on Thursday, December 23, 2021.
Roy Lee Beckley was born a blessing on this Earth to Bozzie Beckley and Mary Liza Beckley on May 24, 1944 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Roy departed this life for eternal glory, December 23, 2021.
Roy Lee relocated to Pontotoc, MS in 1950. As a teenager he was a young farmer for Bill Coleman and George Ford. Roy Lee was employed as a Truck Driver and mechanic for Marshall Durbin for many years. He was a skillful mechanic who everyone sought after to do their car repairs.
Later in life he met and married Billie Jean Owens. They were married for 43 years. They lived happily married until she gained her angel wings on May 12, 2016.
Precious memories are left to his children: Charlie Roy Beckley, Sr. (Valvetta), Juanita Hickinbottom, Rose Mary Beckley Franklin (Michael), Debra Pegues, Priscilla Young (Dexter), Lisa Beckley Estrada (Chino), Ronshay McAllister and Stephanie Burns Beckley (Terry), sixteen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Billie Jean Beckley, one son: Charles Burns, step-children: Robert Lee Owens, Ricky Lee Owens, Billy Joe Owens and Jimmy Owens, siblings: Charles Leonard Beckley, Charles McCalister Beckley, Sr. "Biggums," Buddy Beckley, Sr. "Uncle Buckly" Mae Louis Beckley, Harry Beckley, Sr., Nettie Mae Beckley-Jones (John) and William Earl McCalister "Mack Daddy, six infant children and their mother, Gloria Dean Stovall.
Visitation will be, Tuesday, December 28, 2021, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Pontotoc, MS.
Service will be Wednesday, December 29, 2021, 2:00 p.m., Faith Tabernacle Full Gospel Church, 56 Daniels Lane, Tupelo, MS.
Burial will be in Pontotoc City Cemetery.
