Rodney Lee ("Rodney Mac") McAlister

Rodney Lee McAlister “Rodney Mac” was born on December 1, 1968 to John Henry and Mattie McAlister. He transitioned from this life on earth at his home on Saturday, August 17, 2019.

Rodney “Rodney Mac” was a 1987 graduate of Blue Mountain High School where he enjoyed playing basketball and football. He continued his passion for sports, especially NFL football. He was a die-hard fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and loved to wear his Eagles apparel. He will be remembered, not only for his love of music and big speakers, but for his cool, simple and positive vibes that he carried everywhere he went. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend to those who knew him.

Rodney “Rodney Mac” leaves to cherish his memory his high school sweetheart Donna Gibbs; three daughters: Nichole Gibbs, Keshia Gibbs, and Corrina Gibbs all of Blue Mountain, MS; Six grandchildren: CJ, KD, Haylen, Kylie, Carter, and Jordyn; Two brothers: John Lee McAlister (Tupelo MS) and Larry Wayne McAlister (New Orleans, LA); four sisters: Lizzie Belle Davis (Joliet, IL), Mary Grace McAlister (Blue Mountain, MS), Jacqueline Parker (Joseph) (Indianapolis, IN), Cassandra McAlister Macintosh (Baton Rouge, LA), and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.“RodneyMac” leaves behind many, many, many friends, but to name his close ones that werelike brothers are Anthony Graham “Amp”, Corey Gray, Michael Wilson “Mike”, and Thomas Carter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Mattie McAlister, and his nephew, Ricky “D-Man” Shamblin.
