Robert Lee Jones, Jr.

Robert Lee Jones, Jr., was born on December 26, 1958, to the late Robert Lee Jones, Sr. and Lillie B. Jones, in Lamar, MS.  

Robert accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Concord M.B. Church, in Slayden, MS.  He was a graduate of Sandflat High School, class of 1977.  Robert was a jack of all trades; but his true passion was building houses and working construction.

Robert Lee Jones, Jr. departed this life, on October 2, 2025, at Baptist East Hospital, in Memphis, TN.  He was preceded in death by his lovely wife: Gloria Jones; his one son: Tony Dowdy; his parents: Robert Lee Jones, Sr. and Lillie B. Jones; siblings: Leon Jones, Roger Jones, Evone Jones, Glendale Jones, Delmond Jones, George Jones, Charles Jones, Walter Fitchpatrick, JMichael Jones.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his children:  Tasha Robinson (Julish) of Holly Springs, MS, Ilisha Chappell of Truman, AR, Luther Walton, Jr. of Holly Springs, MS, bonus children, Eric Turner of Memphis, TN, Tarus Turner of Lamar, MS, and Sherry Hughes of Olive Branch, MS; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two sisters:  Anna Jones of Lamar, MS,  Lillie Mae Echols of Victoria, MS;  four brothers: Jerry Jones (Tina) of Memphis, TN, Willie Jones (Louella)  of Lamar, MS, Clyde Jones, Cleo Jones (Debra) both of Memphis, TN; eight sisters-in- law,  two brothers-in-law; one aunt, Arlene Gorman (Eddie) of Slayden, MS; and a host of  nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, 11:00 a.m., Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635.

Burial will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery, 199 S. Market St., Holly Springs, MS  38635.
