Rita Joyce Skelton

Mrs. Rita Joyce Skelton, 74, of Holly Springs, MS, transitioned on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at her residence.

Mrs. Rita Joyce Skelton was born on June 13, 1950, to Elton Wade Skelton and Eva Frances Jobe Skelton in Red Banks, MS.  

Rita accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Cedar Haven Baptist Church in Byhalia, MS.  She attended Olive Branch High School.  She was employed as a Caregiver with Holly Springs Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for several years. She was a good hearted person who enjoyed shopping, shoes, plants, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Rita leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons: Christopher Charles Watts (Michelle) of Lake Center, MS and Bobby Shane McGreger of Ruth, MS; one daughter: Christian Fuller (John) of Red Banks,MS; one brother:James Skelton, Sr. (Debra) of Cockrum, MS; four sisters: Shirley Tribble (Bobby) of Oakland, TN, Fran Ransome (Tommy) of Bull Shoals, AR, Sarah Purser (Corey) of Saulsbury, TN, and Susan Graves of Olive Branch, MS; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other family members, and friends.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents: Elton Wade Skelton and Eva Frances Skelton; 

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.,  at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS  38635.
