Rita Michelle Banks, 57, of Holly Springs, MS, transitioned on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital, Olive Branch, MS
Rita Michelle Banks was born June 16, 1966, to the late Morris Wicks and Fannie Waller Lyles, in Holly Springs, MS.
Rita confessed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Hopewell No. 1 M.B. Church, in Holly Springs, MS. She was a 1985 graduate of Holly Springs High School and then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in business administration. Rita worked for O.S.I. Financial Services in Atlanta, GA, as a senior collection specialist.
Rita was a loving and caring person, who took care of everyone. She lived in Georgia for over 20 years, then she moved back home to Holly Springs; she loved traveling, and shopping. On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, Rita departed this life.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband James Deberry of Holly Springs, MS; three brothers: Gilbert Wicks of Newnan, GA, Jerry Reed of Southaven, MS and Corey Wicks of Rena, NV; three sisters: Marilyn Holloway (Melissa) of Holly Springs, MS, Sherry Lloyd (Ken) of Griffin, GA and Latonya Coleman (B. Coleman) of Jonesboro, AR, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Morris Wicks and Fannie Waller Lyles.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635
Services will held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., at Hopewell No. 1 M.B. Church, 365 N. Bonner St., Holly Springs, MS 38635
Burial will take place at Bowens Cemetery, 498 Govan Avenue, Holly Springs, MS 38635
