Richard Little, Sr. Obituary

Richard "Dick" Carl Little, Sr., 91, of New Albany, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Gentiva Hospice. Richard was born on December 11, 1934, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to the late Floyd T. Little, Sr. and Catherine C. (Hughes) Little.

Richard worked for many years at John Wright Foundry and Grindell Foundry in Lancaster. He was a member of Lancaster Avenue Methodist Church.

As a proud United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict, Richard served with the 12th Marine Corps District in California and was stationed in Hawaii. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of American Legion Post 34, the Marine Corps League, the Rainmakers Association and the Riverside Camping Association.

Richard enjoyed dancing, collected elephants, and loved swimming as a form of exercise, which he enjoyed throughout his life.

Richard is survived by his three children, Mary F. Little, Steve C., husband of Mary Ellen Little, and Richard C. Little, Jr., five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of Lancaster, PA. Не was also preceded in death by his longtime companion, Georgia Inez Fish Bowman, with whom he shared many years together. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd T. Little, Jr., Ronald E. Little, Kenneth J. Little, and Robert C. Hughes, and by his sister, Betty H. Lawrence.

He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.

Richard's Life Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at 1st Apostolic Church, 816 C. Robert E. Lee Drive, Tupelo, MS  38801, with Pastor Cliff Jeter, Officiating.
