Rhonda Maria Johnson

Ms. Rhonda Maria Johnson, 68, transitioned on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at her home in Tupelo, MS. She was born on July 11, 1951 in Memphis, TN, to the late Jasper Andrews and Bernice McClellan.

She accepted Christmas at an early age and united with Gateway Church of God in Christ in Memphis, TN, under the leadership of Pastor Chandler where she served as a faithful choir member. She later united with Victory Temple Holiness Church in Tupelo, MS, under the leadership of Pastor Willie Thorton, where she served faithful until her health began to fail.

She was preceded in death by her late husband: Henry Louis Johnson.

She leaves to cherish one son: Jerome (Monica) Currie. One step-son: Walter (Monica) Taylor both of Memphis, TN. Two daughters: Brandi Brooks of Dallas, TX and Vermont Currie of Tupelo, MS. One sister: Phyllis Hall of Memphis, TN and one goddaughter. She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren. A host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 12 Noon at Christ United Baptist Church on 929 East Raines Rd, Memphis, TN 38116. Burial will take at Calvary Cemetery on 1663 Elvis Presley Blvd, in Memphis, TN. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
