Rayford C. Moffitt, age 65, transitioned to be with the Lord on December 25, 2020. He was born February 16, 1955 to the late R.B. Moffitt and Edith Mae Hardaway Moffitt. He accepted Christ at an early age and remained steadfast in his faith until death.
Rayford loved life and lived everyday expressing the goodness of God. He retired after being employed fifteen years for Caesars Entertainment in Pompano Beach, Florida; he was also employed eighteen years at Carrier Corporation before moving to Florida.
Rayford was a living example of Ephesians 4:32, “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave us”.
Rayford is survived by his wife Jeanette Moffitt; his four sons, Christopher McMahon of Memphis, TN, Shundre Martin (Tamika) of Jacksonville, FL, Rarecias Martin (Quneisha) of Holly Springs, MS, Brandon Moffitt of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Sherrie Martin of Olive Branch, MS, Lakeda Vixon of Memphis, TN; three sisters, Peggy Shannon, Velma Jones (Benjamin), and Mary Cunningham (Darrell); a dear friend Irma Baptiste of Pompano Beach, FL, a lifelong pal Earnest Liggins of Byhalia, MS; 26 grandchildren to continue and honor his legacy, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rayford was an inspiration to everyone he touched. Loving memories will be cherished forever.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 11a.m., until 12:30p.m., at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs. Burial will take place at 1p.m., at Hearn Grove M.B. Church Cemetery in Byhalia, MS. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
