Mrs. Ophelia Adline Judon, 83, of Ripley, MS, transitioned on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at her residence.
Ophelia Adline Waldrop Judon was born in Tippah County, MS on June 9, 1940 to Esau Waldrop and Pearlena Knox Waldrop. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health began to fail. She departed this life on October 24, 2023 at her daughters's home in Ripley, MS surrounded by her children and loved ones.
Ophelia was employed at Blue Mountain College for forty plus years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking and working in her flower garden, canning and cooking and feeding anyone that was hungry. She was known for her delicious chicken and dressing.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children; Bobby Joe Judon of Blue Mountain, MS, Cheryl Judon and Regina Judon both of Ripley, MS, one sister Mary Ann Gray of Ripley, MS, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents Esau and Pearlena Knox Waldrop, daughter Lena Mae Judon, two sisters; Emma Lee Erby and Annie Mae Cockrell, two brothers; F.D. Simmons and Abraham Waldrop.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 722 Coulter Drive, New Albany, MS 38652.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Antioch M. B. Church, 3651 County Road 700, Blue Mountain, MS 38610
Burial will take place in Academy Cemetery, Blue Mountain, MS 38610
