Ms. Lurierine Hudson

Ms. Lurierine Hudson, 77, transitioned on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at her residence in Etta,MS.

Lurierine Chatman Hudson was born December 28, 1945, to DL and Catherine Chatman. She was the fourth child of seven children.

Lurierine joined Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 10, where she remained a member until her health forced her to limit her attendance. She was an usher and choir member in her earlier years of membership. She was known for her beautiful voice and her solos. She was joined in marriage to Warren L. Bruce December 20, 1964. To this union three children were born. Norman Fidel Bruce (who preceded her in death) Jarvis L. Bruce (Regina) of Olivehurst, CA, Rhonda Lynette Bruce (who also preceded her in death).  In 1975, she wed Walter Campbell. To this union one child was born Raven Campbell Slocum. In 1980 she married George Hudson.

She was a gradate of Central High School class of 1965. She spent most of her time as a Homemaker and worked for the Kelwood Company in Oxford, MS. She enjoyed baking, word search, puzzles, and crocheting, often making crocheted hats and blankets for members of the family 

She leaves to mourn her passing, one son: Jarvis Bruce, daughter; Raven Campbell Slocum of Abbeville, MS, her mother; Catherine Chatman of Etta, MS, one brother; Foster D. Chatman (Helen) of Oswego, IL, sisters; Ruby Adolph of Flint MI, Doris Biami (Charles) of Aurora, IL, Eve Chatman of Etta, MS, Uncle; Dwaine (Fairy) Foster of New Albany, MS, 7 grandchildren: Becky, Cameo, Brandon, Remyra Bruce, Sevyn Slocum, Lyrik Kot, a host of nieces, honorary grandson nephew; James Sherwood Chatman, cousins and friends .

Viewing will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, 1:00 p.m., and Service at 2:00 p.m., at Flint Hill M. B. Church , 425 County Road 244, Abbeville,  MS 38601.

 Burial will take place in he church cemetery.
