Mrs. Lucy B. Mason

Mrs.  Lucy B. Mason, 85, transitioned on Thursday, July 6, 2023,  at Methodist Germantown Hospital, Germantown, TN.

Lucy Bailey Mason was born September 12, 1937, to the late George and Rosie Bailey. She was raised in Moscow, Tennessee with her siblings. She departed this life and transitioned to her heavenly home on July 6, 2023. She was deeply loved by all who knew her as evidenced by the overflow of visiting family and friends who cared profoundly for her throughout the years and the last few months of her life.  

Lucy confessed her hope in Christ at an early age at Sims Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor June Dowdy and served many years under the leadership of her dear friend Pastor Adam Gholson, as well as the present Pastor Kieron Morman. She was a passionate and faithful member of the choir. 

She married the love of her life, the late Thomas Mason Sr. on August 28, 1955. To this union nine children were born. She was employed at Troxel Manufacturing Company in 1965. She retired in 1996 after 31 years of employment. 

She was preceded in death by her Husband Thomas Mason Sr., Son, Terry Mason, Grandchildren: Terrell, Jamelah, Carlos and Amanda Mason, Parents George and Rose Bailey. Three Brothers: Jack, Major and Hike Bailey. Six Sisters: Julia Payne, Janie Patrick, Florence Hayes, Mary Lue Griggs, Emma Luellen and Bertha Bailey

Lucy  leaves to cherish her memory: four daughters, Joycetta Mason of Piperton, TN, Linda Parks (Robert), Sherron Mason of Grand Junction, TN, and Tomeka Mason of Williston, TN; six sons, Thomas Mason Jr., Carl Mason, Gary Mason (Laura), Neil Mason (Rosie), Jerry Mason, and Quatavious Mason all of LaGrange, TN; a brother James Bailey (Ruthie) of Moscow, TN; twenty-five Grandchildren, Twenty-six Great Grandchildren, A special friend Dorothy Franklin, a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and special caregivers Franchesca Kolapo and Whitney Murphy. 

Viewing will be Saturday, July 15, 2023, 11:00 a.m., Service will be at 12:00 p.m., at Sims Chapel M.B. Church, 293 Sims Chapel Road, Michigan City, MS 38647.

Burial will take place the church cemetery.
