Mrs. Lettie Smith

August 17, 1927 ~ July 5, 2023 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Obituary

Mrs. Lettie Smith, 95,. transitioned on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at her residence in New Albany, MS.

Nearly everyone craves a long Life, abundant with wellness, laughter, prosperity and Peace. Yet, longevity requires great endurance to continue enjoying the things we crave.  Because the realities of Life ... has its negativities, its sadness,  its struggles, and its misfortunes.  The longer a person has Lived ... the more they have endured."

Our dear Lettie Mae Hunt - Smith had her birthday (on record) August 17, 1927.  Her paternal parents (deceased) are Annie Mae Hunt and Will Rogers.  Her sister, Margie R Hunt Robinson and Jim Hunt, both of New Albany, MS are deceased.

She has no biological children, but is survived by her niece, Ms Linda Hunt and her nephew, Mr Henry Robinson.  There are numerous others who Love her biologically, and also by her two marriages (Benjamin Gordan & Linzo Smith), as aunt and cousin.

Ms. Lettie is also the granddaughter of Ms. Bettie Wilson (Mama Bettie), who at the time of her death, was one of three eldest persons in the USA.  Mama Bettie transitioned at 115 years.

She held her friends deep within her heart all the days of her Life, and would definitely want each of them to know that she Loved them dearly.

Her Mallalieu UMC, New Albany, MS, (recognized as oldest and eldest member) church family has always been precious to her.  Her current pastor, Pastor Evelyn Fitpatrick, along with her church family, were amazing, as they maintained contact and interest with her during her years of unfavorable health.

Ms. Smith's Life unquestionably filled spaces in people's Lives ... and unfortunately leaves many voids, with her transition.  She is already missed immeasurably.
