Mrs. Floyce B. Hunt, 84, transitioned on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at her residence, in Michigan City, MS.
Floyce Hunt was born August 20, 1938, in Benton County, Mississippi to the late Eli and Rosie B. Smith Buggs.
Floyce attended school in Benton County, MS. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Hardaway M. B. Church, where she remained until her departure.
Floyce was united in holy matrimony on September 12, 1954, to Jimmie Dale Hunt Sr., and to this union, six children were born, Billie, Shirley, Jimmie Dale Jr., Lottie, Flossie, and Christy.
Floyce was employed with Master Slack in Bolivar, Tennessee for 25 years.
Floyce along with her parents were preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Dale Hunt, Sr., one daughter Christy Hunt, two grandchildren Pamela Hunt, Sedric A. Hunt, one sister Mae Nelson, two brothers E. L. Buggs, and Rickey Lee Buggs.
Floyce leaves to cherish her memory: five daughters, Billie (Ernest) Harris, Shirley Boyle, Lottie (Eddie) Monie, Crystal Hunt all of Memphis TN, and Flossie (Robert) Poplar of Michigan City, MS; one son, Jimmie Dale Hunt Jr. of Ashland, MS; 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren; four sisters, Annie (Kenneth) Jackson of Grand Junction, TN, Rosie (Dwight) Rucker, Loyce Scott (her twin), and Valandy Poplar all of Michigan City, MS; five brothers, LJ Buggs, Jasper Buggs, Troy (Pearlie) Buggs, Dannie (Joann) Buggs, and Charles (Sandra) Buggs, all of Michigan City, MS; three special in laws, Mary Jean Buggs, Mary Etta Buggs, and Annie L. Buggs, and a host of nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635.
Services will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Hardaway M.B. Church, 1873 Hardaway Church Road, Michigan City, MS 38647.
Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
