Minister Sue Carolyn (Pulliam) Gunn

HOULKA- Minister Sue Carolyn Pulliam-Gunn, 64, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Houlka Strom Shelter in Houlka, MS. She was born in Houlka, MS on October 8, 1954. She was the daughter of the late Hue and Nettie Pulliam. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Second Baptist Church.

As a young woman, she was active in the church as a Sunday School teacher, Singer and Later a Minister until her  death on April 13, 2019.

She was united in holy wedlock to Willie J. Gunn on November 27, 1987. She was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, sister and friend to all.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Willie Gunn, two sons: Alexander Gunn and Matthew Gunn, of Houlka, MS, two brothers: Leon Pulliam and David (Mary) Pulliam, four sisters: Annie (Tom) Gates, Nettie (Jimmy) Isabel, Glenda and Vickie Pulliam all of Houlka, MS, a host of nephews, and nieces, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Gunn will truly be remembered for her concern and care. She believed in the words "love thy neighbor" it was what she cared about. She will truly be missed.

She was preceded in death by two nieces: Regina Isabell and Latoya Pulliam, one nephew: K. Tubb, one great-niece, one uncle, Jack (Dorthy) Griffin, and one brother: Larry (Kathy) Pulliam, one step daughter, Shanika Hamilton and one grandson: Ethan Hamilton.

Services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 1p.m. at Second Baptist M.B. Church in Houlka, MS. Burial will take place at Thompson Chapel Church Cemetery (East County Line) in Houlka. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Body will lie in state one hour prior to service time.
