Minister Earl O’Neal Edwards, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2020.
Earl was born in New Albany, Mississippi on July 6,1926 to the late Leroy and Maggie (nee: Foster) Edwards. On September 12,1942 he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Willie Lee (nee: Johnson). To this union, their eight beautiful children were born. Sadly, Willie passed away on September 10, 1996.
With a profound work ethic, Earl was employed as a Crane Operator at Belle City Malleable / Racine Steel Castings. A man of great faith, Earl had been an Ordained Minister and faithful member of Little Macedonia Church of God in Christ Racine, WI. He was an extremely talented musician who loved sharing his gift of voice, guitar & harmonica. Earl was also a craftsman, handyman, automobile mechanic and enjoyed fishing & hunting. He loved to accessorize his suits with a sharp hat. Above all, he enjoyed quality time with his wife, children, grand-children, siblings, other family members and friends. Earl was all about family. They were his everything!

Also surviving are his brothers & sisters; Carolyn (Johnny) Latham, Catherine (Mose) Knox, Jannie Lowe, Patricia Freeman, Dorothy Graham, Hazel (Wade) Ivy and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & family friends – too numerous to mention all by name.
In addition to his parents & wife, Earl was greeted in Heaven by his beloved children, Mary Edwards, Roy Edwards & Bobby Edwards, infant twin great-grandsons, Eli & Avery Edwards and his siblings; Leo Edwards, Flossie Joy, Hugh Edwards and Ovell Edwards.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 1p.m., at Holy Temple Church Of God with Bishop Charles E. Ferrell delivering the eulogy. Inurnment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in New Albany. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
