Mrs. Mary Helen Vance, 77, transitioned September 25, 2025, at her residence in Belden, MS. She was born February 23, 1948 to the late Oscar and Annie Bell Edward Pinson in Memphis, TN. She attended Ecru Elementary, then transferred to Pontotoc High School and later obtained her GED and Nurses Aide Certification at Itawamba Community College. She was a faithful member of Red Oak Grove Church in Tupelo, MS, where she served as vice president of the Missions Ministry. Mary was employed at Pontotoc County Hospital, Ram Golf, Hunter Sadler and retired from Cooper Tire. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking.
She is survived by her son; Keith (Sabrina) Vance of Tupelo, MS, one daughter, Lesia Short of Belden, MS, one stepson, Cecil Vance of Milwaukee, WI, one stepdaughter, Shunda Vance of Tupelo, MS, a brother, Kenny Pinson of Memphis, TN, sisters; Annie (Jim) Brown of Ecru, MS, Betty McGee of Olive Branch, MS, Catherine (Joe) Hall of Memphis, TN and Doris Jones of Arkadelphia, AR, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a special niece, Twanne Sandlin of OH, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home, 248 Highway 15 S., Pontotoc, MS 38863.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Red Oak Grove M.B. Church, 1215 S. Veterans Memorial Blvd., Tupelo, MS 38804
Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
