Mary Ann Stokes, 58, of Bruce, MS, transitioned on Wednesday, October 8, 2024, Baptist Memorial Hospital, Oxford, MS
Mary Ann Isabell Stokes was born on April 3, 1966 in Calhoun County, MS to the late Mary Williams Isabell and Willie B. Isabell. She lived in Oxford, MS until she relocated to the Bruce Community Living Center. She was a very out spoken person who loved to be around her family and talking on the phone with her sister Shirley and kids. For most of her adult life she worked as a Caregiver until her health declined.
She was united in holy matrimony to her husband of 41 years Auther Wayne Stokes. He preceded her in death. To this union three children were born; Willie W. Stokes, David O. Stokes and Mildred M. Stokes.
Mary Ann Isabell Stokes departed this life on October 8, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Oxford, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband; Auther Wayne Stokes, mother and father; Mary and Willie B. Isabell, one brother; James Earl Isabell, one sister; Annie M. Isabell, her grandparents; Evan Williams and Leonna McKinney Williams, Andrew Isabell and Vera Isabell, three nieces; Regina A. Isabell, Latosha Armstrong and Tiffany Freelon, one nephew; Willie M. Isabell.
Left to cherish her memories are her two sons; Willie Wayne Stokes of Oxford, MS and David O'Neal Stokes (Will) of Pearl, MS, one daughter; Mildred Marie Stokes of Bruce, MS, two grandchildren; Xavier Gillom, and Aryann Gillom, her brothers; Min. Willie (Martha) Isabell of Bruce, MS, Jimmy (Nettie) Isabell of Houlka, MS, Jerry (Kemlyn) Isabell of Lewisville, TX, Johnny (Frances) Isabell of Houlka, MS sisters; Patrice (James) Farr, Margie Patton, and Shirley Spivey all of Pontotoc, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 248 Highway 15 South, Pontotoc, MS 38863
Services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., at Clark's Chapel M.B. Church, 49 County Road 159, Houlka, MS 38850
Burial will take place at Cane Creeks Cemetery, Vardaman, MS 38878
