Marquese Pe’air Cowan, 30, transitioned on Monday, July 13, 2020 in Holly Springs, MS. 

Marquese Pe'air Cowan was born on November 12, 1989 in New Albany, Mississippi to Demetria Cowan and Derrick Vaughn. He joined New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries in Holly Springs, MS.  

Marquese attended Holly Springs High School System. He worked at Wal-Mart, Teddy’s Discount, Contract Fabricator INS in Holly Springs, MS. He liked to mingle with family and friends; everyone knew him as “Puk" or “Sammie Shu.”

Marquese is survived by his loving mother: Demetria Cowan (Eric) of Holly Springs, MS, his father: Derrick Vaughn (Adella) of Holly Springs, MS, one brother: Deonate Pool, his grandmother: Susie B. Vaughn of Holly Springs, MS, nine aunts: Pauline Steveson (Joe) of Red Banks, MS, Gloria Parker (R.D.) and Patricia Parker (Enell) of Byhalia, MS, Brenda Cowan (Willie), Sarah Cowan (Eugene), Mary Jones (Nathan), Brenda Gray (Bobby), Linda Hicks (Torrance), Royal Howell (Tony) all of Holly Springs, MS, three uncles: Roy Vaughn (Vandia), Travis Vaughn ( Marion) and Willie Gordon all of Holly Springs, MS, three great aunts: Ozzie Elliott of Memphis, TN, Earline B. Snow and Lucy Boyd of Holly Springs, MS.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: A.T. Cowan, Dorothy B. Cowan and Roy Lee Vaughn.

Graveside Service will take place on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 11a.m. at Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 4-6p.m. at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs.
