Mrs. Mamie L. Henry, 75, transitioned on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital, Southaven, MS.
Mamie Louise Henry was born December 25, 1946, fourth born of eleven to the late John and Olivia Bobo of Byhalia, MS.
Mamie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Mt. Newell M.B. Church in Red Banks, MS. After graduation from Sandflat High School in 1966, she then moved to Chicago, IL where she worked for many years. She enjoyed bowling, friends and family. Later joined New Genesis Assemble of God MB Church and served as a faithful usher. She then relocated back to Mississippi, retired from Discover and rejoined Mt. Newell M.B. Church and remained a member until her death.
Mamie was proceeded in death by her beautiful daughter, Genese Contina Henry and her two brothers Otis and Clarence Bobo.
On Thursday, April 7, 2022 about the sixth hour, with her daughter and precious grandchildren by her side, the Lord called her name to take her rest and she answered.
Mamie's life was full of love and laughter as she shared her beautiful smile and big heart with her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Evangelist Genevieve Conley; five very special grandchildren; Genese Bobo of Atlanta, GA, Ga'Ray Bobo of Byhalia, MS, Via'Taiva Odukoya (Olawale) of Chicago, IL, Thomas Conley III of Chicago, IL, and Ge'Perris Perkins of Dallas, TX. Four very special Great Grandchildren; Dacari Blanden of Chicago, IL, Javon Lee of Atlanta, GA, Rayah Wimberly of Chicago, IL, and Adetola Odukoya of Chicago, IL. Five sisters; Lois Bobo of Byhalia, MS; Mary Polk of Victoria, MS; Shirley Brown of Olive Branch, MS and Savannah Norman (Scott) of Memphis, TN. Five brothers; Lawrence Bobo of Byhalia, MS; Sylvester Bobo (Carolyn) of Olive Branch, MS; James Bobo (Louise); Michael Bobo (Loraine) of Olive Branch, MS; and Patro Bobo (Rachel) of Byhalia, MS. One aunt; Jeanette Boxdale (Dean) of Holly Springs, MS; One uncle; Oscar Kinkle (Dorothy) of Holly Springs, MS. One very special young lady that's like a granddaughter Wilnisha Hampton of Olive Branch, MS. Three special friends/sisters; Vickie Caffie, Bertina Walls, and Stephanie Aldridge all of Chicago, IL. She leaves also a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 2022, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Holly Springs, MS.
Service will be Saturday, April 23, 2022, 10:00 a.m., New Dimension Salt & Light Ministry, 565 Neely Avenue, Holly Springs, MS.
Burial will take place at Mt. Newell Cemetery, Red Banks, MS.
