Luther "Joe" Walton

Mr. Luther "Joe" Walton, 79, transitioned on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at his residence in Potts Camp, MS.

Luther Walton, also known as "JOE," was born on June 24, 1944, in Marshall County, Mississippi, to the union of Ruby Pegues and Edgar Walton. Luther was the ninth child out of fourteen children and was a twin to Lura Walton Stinson.

On our journey, we experience many people and things. There is always someone who touches our heart and life in special ways. Luke was that person.

Luther was baptized at an early age and joined Mt. Teamer C.M.E. Church where he remained a member until his health failed. Luther was an employee of Don Street Wreaker Services for many years.

On October 14, 2023, Luther went home to be with the Lord.

Luther was proceeded in death by both parents, three sisters: Laura Stinson, Opal Walton, and Remela Peques; five brothers: Eugene Walton, Percy Walton, James E. Walton, Frank Walton, and Poger Walton.

Luther leaves to cherish his memories: one son: Luther Walton Jr. of Holly Springs, MS; four sisters: Marble McNeil, Betty Turnage, Mozella Walton of Holly Springs, MS,  Lillian Wagner of St. Louis, MO; one brother: David (Marie) Walton of Chicago, IL, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635.

Services will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023, 12:00 Noon, at Serenity Funeral Home, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635.

Burial will take place at Mt. Teamer Church Cemetery, Holly Springs, MS
