Mrs. Lucy Mae Wilson, 78, transitioned on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, in Collierville, TN
Lucy Mae Wilson was born on April 7, 1946, in Lewisburg, MS, to the late Rosie Lee Porter-Martin and Frenchie Lewis Martin.
Lucy Mae professed a belief in Christ and continued her belief at New Mt. Gillian M.B. Church in Byhalia, MS, where she remained an active member until her death.
Lucy Mae was called home to her Heavenly Father on August 1, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Collierville, TN.
Lucy Mae was a very special person, loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed shopping, talking on the phone, spending time with her family and “watching the cars go by on the porch” as she would say. She was known to keep everyone laughing and smiling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Willie Earl Wilson; two sisters, Fannie Akins and Beatrice (Samuel) Bennett; and three brothers, Willie Louis (Ida Mae) Martin, George (Ethel Mae) Martin, and Arthur Lee Martin.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband; Calvin Earl Wilson of Byhalia, MS; her daughter, Patricia (Roscoe) Lee of Byhalia, MS; two sons, James Earl (Lakita) Wilson of Chester, VA and Rodenick Wilson of Byhalia, MS; four sisters-in-law, Lillie “Pone” King, Margie King, Velma King and Maurine Jones; one brother-in-law, Eddie Lee Duncan; a nephew that she helped raise, Lee Arthur Buford; and a special friend, Natasha Gatewood. Lucy Mae had twelve grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. She also leaves a beautiful host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she loved dearly.
Visitation will held on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635
Services will held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., at New Mt. Gillian M.B. Church, 774 Stonewall Road, Byhalia, MS 38611
Burial will take place at New Mt. Gillian M.B. Church Cemetery, 70 Watson Cemetery Road, Byhalia, MS 38611
