Leon Pulliam

Mr. Leon Pulliam, 72, transitioned on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.

Leon Pulliam was born on October 19, 1950 in Chickasaw County, MS to the late Hue Lee and Nettie Mae Pulliam. He departed this life on April 11, 2023. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and remained a member of Second B aptist Houlka until his passing. Leon worked at Astro-Lounger until he retired.

Leon leaves to cherish his fondest memories 4 sisters: Annie (James) Gates, Nettie (Jimmy) Isabell, Glenda Pulliam and Vickie Pulliam all of Houlka, MS, one brother: David (Mary) Pulliam, a sister-in-law; Katherine Pulliam of Shannon, MS, and a brother-in-law; Willie James Gunn of Houlka, MS. He also leaves to cherish his memories 2 sons: Christopher Carter and Antonio Carter and a host of grandchildren, 2 aunts: Dorothy Griffen and Vernell Griffen of Tulsa, OK a host of nieces. nephews other relatives and friends.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents; Hue Lee Pulliam and Nettie Mae Pulliam, one sister; Sue Carolyn Gunn, one brother, Larry Pulliam and one son; Kenji Tubbs, three uncles and three nieces.

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a  building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  2 Corinthians 5:1

Services will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, 2:30 p.m., body will lie in state one hour before service time, at Second Baptist Church, 507 Baskins St., Houlka, MS 38850.

Burial will take place at Thompson Chapel Church Cemetery (East County Line), 937 County Road 308, Houlka, MS 38850.
