Ms. Lenora Fondren, 70, transitioned on Friday, April 29, 2022, at her home in Oxford, MS.
Lenora Fondren was born July 9, 1951 to the late Howard B. and Sadie B. Fondren. Lenora accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of North Hopewell M.B. Church. After she received her education at Oxford Central High and Lafayette High School; she moved to Portland, OR.
She was a member of Community Church of God Portland, OR, under the leadership of Pastor Franklin Brown. She served as Adult Sunday School teacher, Adult Choir member, Usher and Visitation Coordinator. She was a faithful member. Lenora was an employee of the Federal Treasury Department until she retired.
She moved back to Oxford and was a faithful member of North Hopewell M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Jamuel Johnson. She served as the Adult Women's Sunday School teacher and Choir member until her death.
She is preceded in death by her loving father and mother: Howard B. Fondren and Sadie B, Fondren and grandson, Demetrius Owens.
She leaves to cherish her memories 3 sons: Antuan Owens of Portland, OR, Jermaine (Vietta) Owens of Las Vegas, NV, Terence Owens of Oxford, MS, 9 grandchildren, 3 brothers: Willie Lee Franklin of Taylor, MS, Howard B. Fondren, Jr. of Clarksdale, MS and Kelvin (Linda) Fondren of San Antonio, TX, 3 sisters: Ruby (William) Wright of Taylor, MS, Kathy (James) Pearson of Oxford, MS, Sarah (Thomas) Reed of Taylor, MS, a host of nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. A very special friend and Prayer Partner: Mrs. Sanja Adams of Portland, OR.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2022, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Serenity-Burney Funeral Home Chapel, Oxford, MS.
Services will be Saturday, May 14, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at the TOMB Building, Oxford, MS.
Burial will take place a Yocona Cemetery in Taylor, MS.
Serenity-Burney Funeral Home of Oxford, MS, is in charge of arrangements.
