Mrs. Lela Bell Woods, 88, of Memphis, TN, transitioned on Friday, February 9, 2024, in Michigan City, MS
 

Lela Bell Woods, was born on September 3, 1935, to the late Addison Riddle and Ora Lee Payne Riddle, in Holly Springs, MS.   She transitioned on Friday, February 9, 2024, in Michigan City, MS.

She dedicated her life to God at an early age at Grays Chapel Church C.M.E.  and later proclaimed her faith as a member of Giving Life Ministries, where she was on the Mother’s Board, in Holly Springs, MS. She married Johnnie Lee Woods Jr., on December 25, 1958. She also loved to cook, go fishing, sewing quilts, gardening, and being around her family.

Her memories will be cherished by her daughter: Mae Doria Franklin (Gregory) of Memphis, TN; two brothers: Epson “Snook” Riddle (Louise), and Herman “Bent” Riddle, both of Holly Springs, MS; one sister: Katie Bell Rhine of Ashland, MS; 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family relatives, and friends.

Lela Bell was preceded in death by her parents: Addison Riddle and Ora Lee Payne Riddle: her husband: Johnnie Lee Woods Jr.; two daughters: Rosie Marie Campbell and Earnestine Hughes; five brothers: Orsby “Dude” Riddle, Leroy “Mane” Riddle, Anderson “Bay” Riddle, Addison “Bubba” Riddle, Troy Lee Riddle; two sisters: Ida Mae Glover, and Ada “Doll” Isom.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, 4:00 pm-6:00 p.m., Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 North Memphis Street, Holly Springs, MS 38635

Services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at  2:30 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 North Memphis Street, Holly Springs, MS 38635

Burial will take place at Grays Chapel C.M.E. Church Cemetery, 3682 Hudsonville Road, Holly Springs, MS  38635
