LeMarcus Tyrone Buffington, Sr., 45, of Southaven, MS, transitioned on Thursday, August 8, 2024

Lemarcus T. Buffington, Sr. was an easy going, compassionate, and hardworking man who loved his family, his circle of friends and above all his children. Born December 22, 1978, to young teenage mother, Eunice Buffington and Stanley Woodson (deceased).

He grew up in Holly Springs, MS, on Rencher Drive until he joined his mother traveling the world as a "military brat". He played high school football in Kitizgen Germany and Anniston, AL.  Being an only child, he learned to cook at an early age, a skill he developed working at a Italian Restaurant in Anniston, AL where he developed St Marcus Eggrolls. He returned home to graduate from Holly Springs High School in 1997.

After graduation he moved to Aurora, IL, and started his family, with the birth of his namesake, Lemarcus T. Buffington, Jr. In 2010 he returned to Mississippi determined to be his own boss. He established Memphis Express Transportation Services. Later he fathered two daughters that he proudly named, Aminah Zendaye and Aniyah Kadisha M. Buffington. 

Lemarcus was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Johnny and Cora Mae Adams Buffington, maternal great grandparents, Robert Adams and Velma Lewis Lester.

He is survived by his mother Eunice Buffington (Patrick London), Pop's Lemuel Holmes, his children, Lil Marcus Jr., Aminah, and Aniyah Buffington, two special aunts Cassandra and Velma Buffington, a special great aunt, Bettie Hill. A special friend, Angela Dixon and a host of cousins, other relatives, friends, and business associates.  

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 North Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635

Services will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024,  at 1:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635
