Mr. Lawrence Dozier, 91, of Memphis, TN, transitioned on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Midtown Center for Health & Rehab, Memphis, TN
Lawrence M. Dozier was born on February 3, 1933, in New Albany, MS to the late Julie Mae Harris-Dozier and Richard Dozier He departed this life November 24, 2024 Lawrence had an extraordinary career in auto repair at Coleman Taylor Transmission, where he earned a reputation for his unparalleled expertise and vast knowledge of cars..His skill and dedication to his craft were unmatched, and he enjoyed sharing his wisdom with others. He had a particular love for cars, finding joy not just in fixing them, but in understanding the intricgacies that made each one unique. Outside of his career, Lawrence was passionate about walking, music, spending time with family and food. He found peace in taking long walks and appreciated the simple pleasure of life. He was an avid music lover, with his heart always tuned to the soulful sounds of BB King, his favorie artist. His love for music and food was only matched by his love for his family.
One of his greatest joys in his life was spending time with his children, especially when they came to visit, their visits filled his heart with happiness. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them
Lawrence is survived by his seven children; Lynda F. Hollins (Willie), Lawrence W. Dozier, Glenda Dozier, Peggy L Holt (John), Robert L Dozier, Richard E. Dozier and Darell Dozier and his siblings; George Dozier, Tommy Lee Dozier, Nora L. Jackson, Juliette Harris (Willie Frank), Rev. Carl R. Dozier (Leona), Mattie Mae Carr (Brad), 23 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Lawrence will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents one son; Edward L. Dozier and one sister; Mattie Mae Nesbitt.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to time of Service at 12:00 Noon, at Beaver Dam M.B. Church, 836 County Road 115, New Albany, MS 38652
Burial will take place at Palestine M.B. Church, 690 County Road 830, Blue Mountain, MS 38610
