Mr. Larry Pryor, 65, transitioned on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at North MS Medical Center, in Tupelo, MS.
Mr. Larry “Stanley” Pryor was born July 29, 1957, to the late Dean Newson and Tessie Mae Pryor Sesson in Tate County, MS.
He departed her life on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.
He attended Byhalia High School. He accepted Christ at an early age at Roberts Chapel CME Church in Coldwater, MS. He was a dedicated worker at Memphis Furniture until his retirement. He enjoyed cooking, dancing, fishing and horses.
Larry was united to Earnestine Jackson and to this union a son was born. He later married Gilda Dockery and to this union a daughter and son was born.
His memories will be cherished by three sons: Rodney Jackson (Lashiek) of Holly Springs, MS, Marquiz Pryor of Senatobia, MS, and Justin Pryor of Byhalia, MS; one daughter: Monica Pryor of Olive Branch, MS; two brothers; Chester Sesson of Washington, DC and Barry Pryor (Jerri) of Woodstock, GA; seven sisters: Queen Esther Dean of St. Louis, MO, Louise Richmond of Chicago, IL, Remal Boyd of Coldwater, MS, Kathy Thomas (James) of Woodstock, GA, Fnesa Newson (Whitt), Nancy Sesson both of Coldwater, MS, and Dena Kay Phillips of Memphis, TN; eleven grandchildren, and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Dean Newson and Tessie Mae Pryor Sesson; four brothers Billy Wayne Sesson, Calvin Pryor, Joseph Garret, and Lee Edward Newson; and three sisters Alice Joyce Kimbrough (Jimmy), Dorothy Dandridge, and Annie Williams.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 North Memphis Street, Holly Springs, MS 38635.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Roberts Chapel CME Church, 2473 Walhill Road, Coldwater, MS 38618.
Burial will follow at Roberts Chapel CME Church Cemetery, Coldwater, MS 38618
