Mr. Khary L. Dykes, 47, of New Albany, MS, transitioned on Friday, December 27, 2024, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.
Khary Lydell Dykes, 47, of New Albany, MS, was born on February 5, 1977, in Detroit, Michigan to Annie Louise Dykes and Larry Dykes. He departed this life December 27, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.
Khary accepted Christ as his savior at Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Blue Springs, MS. He graduated from Saltillo High School, with the class of 1995. While at Saltillo, Khary played basketball, baseball, and football. After high school, Khary joined the Mississippi Army National Guard, where he worked for many years. He furthered his education at Itawamba Community College, studying Tool, Welding and Electrical.
Throughout his life, Khary worked in furniture manufacturing and recently became supervisor at Shug Farms in New Albany, MS. His favorite pastime was playing softball with the Red Hill softball team. Khary's giving heart led him to join the Man-Up group to provide counsel to young men from all walks of life, and assist with food drives and food deliveries with Second Baptist Church in Ecru, MS.
On July 25, 2015, Khary married Angela Dykes in a simple ceremony in Okolona, MS. There were no children born of this union.
Khary was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Eloise Dykes and John Franklin and Angie Bell Daniel.
Khary leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Angela Dykes of Okolona, MS, his father, Larry Dykes of New Albany, MS, his mother, Annie Louise Dykes of Tupelo, MS, his big brother Torrey Dykes of Guntown, MS, sisters; Sarah Lynn Thomas of Jackson, MS, and Melody Dykes of Ridgeland, MS, niece, Jade Dykes of Baldwyn, MS and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 722 Coulter Drive, New Albany, MS 38652
Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Red Hill M.B. Church, 1242 County Road 194, Blue Springs, MS 38828
Burial will take place at Red Hill Cemetery, Blue Springs, MS
