Kevin M Daniel

Kevin M. Daniel known as the “Gentle Giant” by his earthly mother” Phyllis Cobb Daniel, was born June 29, 1987 in Tupelo, MS to Steve M. and the late Charlotte Turner Daniel.  

 

He professed his love for Christ at an early age and joined Red Hill M.B. Church where he remained a member until he departed this life at the age of 34.

 

He received his early education at East Union Attendance Center where he graduated in 2006.  Immediately following high school, Kevin went into the workforce working several positions until he found Swift Prepared Foods (formally Plumrose, USA), in Tupelo, MS and stayed there for several years working as a forklift operator in the freezer. He loved his job, but recently decided he wanted to become an Over the Road Driver.  Kevin completed the necessary courses to obtain his CDL’s and joined his brothers and nephew over the road as a Licensed CDL-A Driver.   Excited about his new career, on the morning of Kevin’s departure, he came home excited to tell his dad about his week on the road, he felt a sense of accomplishment, a spark in his eyes was the last thing his dad saw before he left us.  

 

Kevin was a gentle soul, kind-hearted, peaceful and caring.  He loved his family, his mother, father, the sisters (as he called them) and his bruhs (as he called them), lest not forget all those nieces and nephews that spoke of  him so often.  Yes, our “Gentle Giant.” 

 

His auntie remembers him oh so well, coming into her house yelling, “Auntie what you cook? What you got sweet?” Words that will be in our hearts and dwell in our souls forever.

 

Kevin’s life and memories will forever be celebrated by his father Steve and mother Phyllis, his three sisters, Sabreda (Justin) Bailey of Blue Springs, MS, Saprina (Bruce) Small of Tupelo MS, Constance Daniel of Booneville, MS.  His three brothers, S. Maxwell Daniel of Guntown, MS, Chester T. Daniel and Murphy M. Daniel both of Blue Springs, MS, his grandmother, Annie C. Daniel of Blue Springs, MS and paternal grandfather, Jeff B (Treva) McWhorter, Racine, WI.

 

Kevin was preceded in death by his birth mother Charlotte Turner Daniel, grandparents, AB and Maureen Turner, grandfather Murphy Daniel, grandparents, Rev. Chester and Marguerite G. Cobb, uncle Charles Cobb, uncles, Lester, Dwight and Bruce Turner, uncles Richard and Jerome Daniel, and aunt Lisa McWhorter. 

 

He leaves to mourn a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
