Katie Way Brown, 82, transitioned on Friday, September 22, 2023, at her residence in Michigan City, MS.

Mrs. Katie Way 'Murdock’ Brown Was born February 02, 1941, to the late Wiston Turner and Lue Sullivan of Grand Junction, TN. Katie was later adopted by the late Cole Vance and Jessie Bell Murdock both of Michigan City, MS.

Mrs. Katie Way Brown confessed her like at an early age and joined Hardaway M.B. Church.

Mrs. Katie was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Johnnie Brown, Sr., who proceeded her in death, alone with four son’s:  Rayford Murdock, Wayne Brown, Tracy Brown, and Marcus Brown; her two sisters: Mrs. Gladis Turner, Earlean Terry;  two brother:  Willie and Wiston Turner;  one grandson Tylerious Brown; and one step daughter Doris.

Mrs. Katie leaves to cherish her memory her eight children Eddie Murdock of Michigan City, MS, Willie Gloria Murdock of Corinth, MS, Johnny Brown Jr., Monique Ronell Murdock both of Michigan City, MS, Karachia Willie McKinnie, Rinnix Brown, both of Grand Junction, TN, Kenivil Brown, Karbicca Brown both of Michigan City, MS; four sisters  Betty Richard of Memphis, TN,  Dora White of Indianapolis, IN, Gussie Torshell Turner both of Grand Junction, TN; five brothers, Rickey Turner of Michigan City, MS. Auther Turner  Deshawn Turner both of Grand Junction, TN, 11 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS  38635, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

Services will be held at Hardaway M.B. Church, 1180 Hardaway Church Road, Michigan City, MS  38647, on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will take place at Turner's Cemetery, Jessie Road, Michigan City, MS 38647.
