Joe Willie Logan, 83, of Oxford, MS, transitioned on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of Oxford, MS.
The Lord saw that you were getting tired and on Monday, January 29, 2024, Joe Willie Logan was called home. Joe Willie, the son of the late Willie Mack and Lillie Mae Logan was born on May 9, 1940 in Lafayette County, MS. Joe Willie accepted Christ at an early age and joined Providence United Methodist Church. He remained a member until his demise.
Joe was married to Bessie Lott. She preceded him in death.
His memory will be cherished by his daughter; Lucy Gwenevere Goolsby, two sisters; Mattie (CW) Young of Abbeville, MS, Elizabeth (Sherman) Miller of Memphis, TN, one sister-in-law; Paulette Logan, three grandchildren; Darqula Goolsby, Shenita Peet, and Dominique Goolsby, seven great-grandchildren; Shamar, Shavon, Sheniese, Airiqa, Dairiqa, Brooklyn, Kinsley, two aunts; Ruby Logan and Annie Logan, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Bessie Lott, parents, three brothers; Russell, Elbert and Nathaniel, two sisters; Wadie and Zettie B.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, 12;00 Noon to 5:00 p.m., at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 294 Highway 7 North, Oxford, MS 38655
Services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, 2:30 p.m., at Providence United Methodist Church, 126 County Road 108, Abbeville, MS 38601
Burial will take place in the church cemetery
