With profound love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of a devoted man of God, Jesse Louis Dykes, son of the late Jesse and Eloise (Lowe) Dykes. He was born November 20, 1942 in New Albany, MS.
Jesse’s faith was not only spoken but lived daily. In 1972 he gave his life to Christ, became a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and has been walking faithfully with the Lord ever since. He was an Elder and filled many positions in the church over the years. He was a loving family man who cherished his role as husband, father, grandfather, and the best Pawpaw anyone could ask for. A hard worker and entrepreneur, he believed in providing, persevering, and doing all things with excellence. He was known for his helping spirit - always willing to lend a hand, offer wise counsel, or give encouragement to anyone in need. His life was a living testimony of service, love, and faith, and his legacy will continue to shine through the many lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Eloise Dykes, three children, Polly A. (Cornell) Quarles, Anthony J. Dykes, and Bonita C. Dykes, two brothers, and five sisters.
Jesse Dykes leaves to cherish his memories one brother Larry Dykes, three children, Zaneta Jones (Nelson), Evelyn Rogers (Boderick), and Tulane Simmons-Dykes, 15 grandchildren, D’Audray Gillard (Keshia), Chiquita Bradley (Sandy), Dontay Jeffries (Breana), Quyeisha Johnson (Torriano), Tierra Jones (Decory), Desmion Foote (Alesha), Jamaree A.
