James "Smiley" Marion

Mr. James "Smiley" Marion, 84, transitioned on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at New Albany Health & Rehabilitation. 
James "Smiley" Marion was born January 28, 1937 in Oxford, MS to Oliver Marion and Ella Buford Marion. He departed this life August 21, 2021 at New Albany Health and Rehab.
Smiley worked various jobs around the city of New Albany at Mohasco and Kent Auto Sales as a mechanic. He was known for always driving a sharp vehicle. He was married to Dovie Howell Marion.
He is survived by his  wife; Dovie Howell Marion of New Albany, MS, children; James Marion, Jr. of New Albany, MS, Kenta (Ivory) Howell of Blue Mountain, MS, and Tim Finley of New Albany, MS, his daughter; Linda Marion Buford and a special nephew; Woodrow Marion (Linda) of New Albany, MS, many grandchildren, step-children: Mayes Howell and Louise Judon, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:45a.m., at Gerizum Cemetery in Myrtle, MS. Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 10a.m., until 11a.m., at the funeral home before heading to the cemetery.
